April 1, 2021 Median Income Update for Bankruptcy Means Test
The Means Test Calculator on the LegalConsumer.com website has been updated to incorporate the fact that The Executive Office for U.S. Trustees (EOUST) has published its updated April 1, 2021 median income data for the bankruptcy means test.
New Median Income numbers up 1.2% across the board
The government seems to have punted this round on its median income data, because it does not seem to be unique to each state.
Instead the government seems to have just padded each state’s number from last year by 1.2%.
Sometimes these updates are state specific, other times they are just general increases apply to all 50 states.
No explanation is ever given of why it’s done different ways different times. Presumably the same data is there every round but sometimes they just choose to treat all states the same. It is a mystery…
Free Online Means Test Calculator has been updated
Nevertheless, mine is not question why, but rather to update the free bankruptcy means test calculator anytime they change their tables.
And I have done that.
You can find the new, updated April 1, 2021 Means Test Calculator here.
Calculator Has a New Look
You might also notice a new look for the calculator as of today.
The new design has a smaller font and a very handy Table of Contents which makes it possible to use the calculator — even on a smartphone — especially in landscape mode.
I hope you like the new, more phone-friendly design. It’s not easy to automate an 8 page form for a phone! But I’m doing my best.
